What it does

You define one or more feeds, each pointing at a WordPress REST API URL. The plugin fetches them and exposes the results to your skin as numbered Smarty variables, WORDPRESS_FEED_1 through to as many as you configure, each a normal PHP array your templates can loop over.

Typical uses

• Latest blog posts on the store home page, straight from /wp-json/wp/v2/posts
• Customer testimonials above the footer, from a testimonials endpoint, optionally filtered to five star reviews only
• Any custom post type you already maintain in WordPress and do not want to maintain twice

Settings

• A Smarty variable prefix and number per feed, with certain numbers reserved for specific Havenswift skin areas so a feed drops straight into the right place
• An optional homepage title URL, which turns the section heading into a link on skins that support it
• A maximum description length, so a long post does not blow out a small panel

Why this rather than an iframe or a copy and paste

The content stays in WordPress, where it is written, and appears on the store as native markup inside your own skin, so it is styled by your skin, indexed as part of your store page, and never goes stale. Marketing keeps its blog; the shop gets the benefit.

• Some skin work to place the output, unless you are on a Havenswift Hosting skin
