A handful of small, practical changes to the CubeCart checkout, each of which removes a distraction or captures something worth knowing.

Buy a licence in our client area

£10.00 for the first year. It then renews automatically at £5.00 a year, which is 50% less than the initial price. The licence covers a single domain and includes ongoing ticket support and all software updates; if you choose not to renew at the end of the year, the plugin stops working. The price shown on this page is the first year total, and buying is handled in our client area rather than on this demo store.

How did you hear about us?

Adds the question to the checkout, with a choice of a free text box or a dropdown of options you define, and an option to make it mandatory with your own error message. Analytics will tell you the last click before an order; this tells you what the customer thinks brought them to you, and the two are frequently different. For shops that advertise offline, in a trade magazine or on a van, it is the only attribution available.

Hiding what does not apply

• Hide the gift certificate and coupon box - if you never issue codes, an empty discount field simply invites customers to leave and go looking for one
• Hide the shipping dropdown - for a shop with a single delivery method, a select box with one option is noise
• Hide the standard checkout button - useful when you are steering customers to an express payment route
