Multiple Homepage Documents

CubeCart gives you one homepage document. This plugin gives you as many as you want, positioned where you want them, with an optional accordion so that a page full of text still reads short.

What it does

Every site document in your store gains an Include On Homepage setting and a sort order. Tick it, give it a position in the running order, and it appears on the homepage alongside the normal designated homepage document. Documents can sit above the main document, between the main document and the latest products, or below the latest products, so you can build a homepage out of editable content instead of hard coded template blocks.

The accordion

Each document can be set to display as an accordion panel, and you choose whether it starts open or closed. This is the feature people buy it for. Search engines want text on the page; customers want a page they can scan. An accordion gives you both, because the words are all in the HTML while the page stays short enough to use. The homepage of this demo store is built this way, and the section you are reading in the shop is exactly that.

• Include on homepage, on or off
• Sort order, with the current running order displayed so you can see the sequence at a glance
• Show or hide the document title
• Display as an accordion, and whether it opens closed by default

Skins

Havenswift Hosting skins render these documents already. Our Retail Therapy skin in particular is built around the plugin, using it to produce a homepage layout that looks nothing like a stock CubeCart store. For a third party skin, the install guide on the plugin's admin screen gives you the Smarty variables to place.
